This position sits within the Unlocked Programme Team, which is responsible for designing and implementing training programs for new cohorts, as well as providing ongoing support to ensure they have the necessary skills to make a significant impact.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to support our Programme Team with a wide range of tasks. The successful candidate will gain insight into:
- Training delivery and curriculum development
- Our work with the Ambassador community
- The specific training required to become a prison officer
The programme is national in scope, and some travel may be required to support our teams in Birmingham and Manchester.
About Unlocked GraduatesUnlocked Graduates exists to break cycles of reoffending by providing support and training to individuals who have the potential to make a positive impact in the prison system.
Currently, prisons are not equipped to provide the necessary support to help individuals rehabilitate and reintegrate into society. As a result, over 50% of prisoners released from short-term sentences reoffend within a year, leading to a significant waste of potential and a substantial financial burden on taxpayers.
Our goal is to create a generation of leaders who believe in the possibility of rehabilitation and are equipped to drive change within the prison system. Since 2016, we have recruited and trained nearly 900 prison officers who have been placed in 38 different prisons across England and Wales.
Our unique training and support model provides participants with the skills and expertise they need to excel as prison officers, lead rehabilitative efforts, and drive improvements across the system. Our curriculum is developed by expert trainers who take an evidence-led approach to ensure that it applies the most effective teaching and learning methods.
Our award-winning, two-year graduate leadership development programme has raised the status of the prison officer role as a career where individuals can develop extraordinary leadership skills while making a real difference. We are recognised in the UK and internationally for the impact our participants are having on the landings.
