The role: Strategic Commissioning Consultant

Location:

Job Type: Full Time Contract

Pay: £500 Per Day

The role involves leading the development, implementation, and management of the Adults' Service Commissioning Delivery Plan. This includes building on the recommendations from a recent review of commissioned services, focusing on:

  • Establishing a Commissioning Board to set priorities and oversee current workstreams.
  • Organizing regular commissioning meetings with ICB partners to identify joint commissioning opportunities.
  • Creating a care home framework/DPS.
  • Collaborating with care providers to refresh Market Position Statements.
  • Reviewing market management approaches and considering the formation of provider forums or other means of structured communication.
  • Supporting the Commissioning service redesign to build capacity and capability.

Essential skills include:

  • Local authority Adults' Services Head of Service or above, delivering similar commissioning changes.
  • Demonstrable track record of implementing Market Position Statements and social care commissioning initiatives.
  • Strong team player with a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of local authority annual budgeting and commissioning best practices.
  • Project management experience with the ability to plan and monitor outcomes.
