About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Building Inspector to join our team in Poole. As a key member of our building control team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage multiple projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated standards.
  2. Uphold quality risk management and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  3. Ensure awareness of best practices in risk management initiatives and adherence to policies and procedures.
  4. Assess applications and attend meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required.
  5. Manage a portfolio of projects within a geographical area.
  6. Effective time management for inspection visits and plan checking.
  7. Ability to work with minimal supervision/remotely.
  8. Commercial awareness.
  9. Chartered or working towards full corporate membership of Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  10. Hold and maintain appropriate Technical Class 2 Registered Building Inspector (RBI) status.
  11. Conversant with relevant legislation and technical guidance, including The Building Safety Act (2022).
  12. Knowledge of fire safety and health and safety.
  13. Understanding of the construction design process and RIBA Stages of work.
  14. Knowledge of customer care and equal opportunities in Building Control.
  15. Experience in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations.
  16. Experience with different types of buildings and projects.
  17. Effective self-management of site inspections and reporting.
  18. Experience in a building control environment.
  19. Client relationship management across design and construction teams.
  20. Plan checking across a wide range of project types.
