Job Title: Specialist Inclusion Worker

Join SYNLAB UK & Ireland, a leading provider of pathology services, as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in our Night worker team in the Haematology department.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work night shifts in Haematology and Blood Transfusion. The role will include a period of induction during core hours, followed by night shift working. Some core training days will be scheduled throughout the year to ensure competency is maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret routine and specialist biomedical investigations autonomously to provide patients results within agreed quality standards of service delivery and turnaround times under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Continue with personal development through academic and/or practical experience.
  • Provide professional leadership and training to Basic Grade, Trainee Biomedical Scientist, Associate Practitioners (equivalent grades) and Medical Laboratory Assistants.
  • Maintain the standards of conduct required by the Health Professions Council to practice as a registered Biomedical Scientist.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • At least 2 years post-registration experience in Haematology/BT specialism
  • Specialist portfolio in Haematology and BT or equivalent
  • Experience in lone working in blood transfusion and haematology (including morphology)
