**Job Title:** Clinical Voice Specialist

**Salary Range:** £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

 

**About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Transformation Unit as a Clinical Voice Specialist. We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work with adult patients with complex voice, speech, language and communication difficulties.

The successful candidate will have experience in assessment, treatment and management of clients with voice disorders, as well as training and experience in counselling clients. They will also be able to develop and deliver education and training packages.

We require a Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists with a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, and at least 4 years post-qualification experience working with adult client groups. Experience in Surgical Voice Restoration and Assessment, treatment and management of complex clients with voice, speech, language and communication difficulties is highly desirable.

 

**Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring safe management and timely rehabilitation of complex post-surgical and airway patients within MDT setting.
  • Overseeing clinical treatment plans to ensure provision of evidence and goal-based therapy.
  • Commencing discharge planning alongside MDT to ensure the SLT team proactively contributes to maintaining flow through services.
  • Ensuring timely referrals for ongoing rehabilitation.
  • Completing necessary documentation to allow for audit data sets to be completed which report on performance of the service.

 

**Requirements:
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
  • Health Professions Council – Licence to Practice.
  • Masters Degree level or equivalent e.g. successful completion of short courses such as Advanced Dysphagia, Tracheostomy Management, Clinical Voice Disorders, Counselling and structured self-study.
  • Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Relevant experience at undergraduate/post-graduate level.
