We are seeking a highly skilled Child Mental Health Specialist to join our team at North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will provide an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology as accredited by BPS and Professional Registration with HCPC. They will also have significant experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties, including assessing and managing risk and providing a variety of interventions for children and young people with mental health problems and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality specialist psychology assessments and interventions for young people referred to the service.
  • Working with schools, colleges, and other community-based professionals to provide support and guidance on mental health issues affecting children and young people.
  • Providing consultation, support, and psychological advice to staff and families.
  • Collaborating with researchers to develop evidence-based practices and contribute to the development of policy and service delivery.
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology as accredited by BPS and Professional Registration with HCPC.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with children, young people, and their families.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
