Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Child Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Manchester. As a CAMHS Children worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with mental health issues.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work flexibly in educational settings, delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties. They will also support mental health leads in schools/colleges to develop a whole-school approach to wellbeing and mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- To deliver high-quality interventions for children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
- To work effectively with education staff and specialist services to provide advice and guidance on mental health support.
- To assess, manage and monitor risk, including safeguarding, to ensure the well-being of all individuals involved.
- To maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to the development of effective treatment plans.
Requirements
- Degree-educated in a relevant area such as Psychology, Health and Social Care, or Child Development.
- Proven experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and delivering low-intensity interventions in school environments.
- Ability to assess, formulate, and manage care appropriately, ensuring timely discharge and planned outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, service users, and their families.
Salary and Benefits
This is a permanent position with a salary range of £29,970 to £36,483 per annum (pro-rata). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive work environment.
