Young Person Advocate
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Young Person Advocate to join our team at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our support services, you will work closely with care leavers aged 16-25 to promote their independence and well-being.
In this role, you will develop and implement personalized advocacy plans, providing guidance and resources to help young people achieve their goals. Your expertise in risk assessments and risk management will be invaluable in ensuring the safety and security of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate on behalf of care leavers, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Develop and implement tailored advocacy plans, incorporating relevant resources and referrals.
- Liaise with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support services.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience working with young people, preferably in a supportive or mentoring capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of risk assessments and risk management plans.
This is a full-time position, working three weeks on and one week off, including one weekend per month and occasional evenings. You will also be required to work bank holidays.
