Residential Practitioners for Complex Young People

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking committed professionals to join our Children and Young People Service. We are investing in a new model of residential intervention, focusing on the needs of looked-after children and young people with complex requirements.
The role of Casual Residential Practitioner will play a vital part in delivering this service, working closely with colleagues and partners to provide a supportive environment for these young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of looked-after children across the borough
- Develop effective relationships with children and young people, acting as a positive role model
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches and behavioral management models
- Foster opportunities for children and young people to influence decisions affecting them
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a joined-up service centered on the child's needs
- Engage in running the home, including activities, meals, personal care, and recording
- Participate in mandatory staff training, attend staff meetings, and formal supervision sessions
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing physical environment
- Hold a full valid UK driving license
- Transport children and young people to and from school/activities

Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for individuals with NQF Level 3 qualifications or equivalent, as well as experience working in services supporting children and young people with complex needs.
About You
We seek committed professionals who can develop their skills and practices as part of a team, supporting and caring for some of our most complex children and young people.
We estimate that the salary for this position will be around £18-22 per hour, depending on experience.
