About the Role
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking experienced and dedicated professionals to join our Children and Young Peoples Services team as Childrens Residential Practitioners.
As a Childrens Residential Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to looked-after children and young people in our residential settings.
Our team is committed to delivering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized care and support to children and young people, including daily living skills, education, and leisure activities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure a holistic approach to care and support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring that the needs of each child or young person are met.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in residential childcare.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a residential childcare setting, preferably with children and young people with complex needs.
- Level 6 qualification in a relevant field, such as social work, childcare, or education, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate positively with children, young people, and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in residential childcare.
