We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Outreach Worker to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a key member of our Gypsy Roma Traveller team, you will play a vital role in supporting families from the Czech Slovak community and promoting positive relationships with local services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide intensive support to families to reduce professional concerns and ensure they access the right support at the right time.
- Work in partnership with allocated social workers to deliver high-quality services to families.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and partners to promote cohesive services for families.
- Engage with families in a respectful and responsive way, promoting their engagement in childcare, early education, and group activities.
- Disseminate information, offer advice, and advocacy to parents and carers within the Gypsy Roma Traveller communities.
- Ability to speak Czech Slovak and communicate effectively with children, parents, and carers.
- Experience of working in a culturally diverse environment with parents from minority ethnic communities and vulnerable groups.
- Ability to work flexibly across different work locations and areas as appropriate.
- Commitment to being a good role model to Gypsy Roma Traveller children and families and other staff members.
- Ability to lead and manage own workload, influencing and persuading other multi-agency professionals to consider alternative views about Gypsy Roma Traveller families.
