Job Title: Graduate Education Assistant - SEND

Job Type: Temporary or Contract
About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Education Assistant - SEND to join our team in Heanor. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, with a minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist the class teacher with classroom preparation and delivery of lessons • Undertake 1:1 work with students who require additional support • Help with pupil observations and assessments • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support students with SEND • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of all students • Provide regular progress updates to parents and carers • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements: • Minimum 6 months' experience working with children with SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and other staff members • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Basic IT skills and familiarity with digital tools • Enhanced DBS check and ID checks required • Good professional references.
