A leading manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join its expanding Logistics team. This critical role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives and meeting customer demands through effective logistics and production planning.

Job Purpose:

The Supply Chain Specialist will support logistics functions, including production planning and staffing needs, working closely with the Logistics Manager to optimize departmental efficiency.

  1. Logistics & Production Planning: Collaborate with team leaders on operational planning for timely delivery and high-quality standards.
  2. Performance Improvement: Utilize PDCA methodology to monitor logistics performance, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a 5S system.
  3. Customer Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure satisfaction.
  4. Health, Safety & Environment: Promote health and safety practices to minimize risks and support an environmentally conscious work environment.
  5. Financial Support: Assist the Logistics Manager in developing and adhering to budgets, emphasizing financial responsibility and resource optimization.
  6. Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate insights to inform logistics strategies.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Proven experience in logistics within the manufacturing industry, encompassing EDI scheduling, production planning, and lean manufacturing.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Excel, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Salary: A competitive salary £45,000-£55,000 per annum, with opportunities for career advancement.
