Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in England, Greater London, Merton.

Job Type:

This is a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.

£95 - £110 Per day

Job Duties:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers in implementing personalized education plans
  • Support students with personal care needs, including feeding and toileting
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure student success
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children with special needs
Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is highly valued

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Effective communication skills to work with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid certification
  • Makaton or other communication training
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a classroom setting
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviors
  • Regular interaction with students with special needs
