Are you a seasoned professional looking for a challenging opportunity in wind energy project development? Climate17, a purpose-led recruitment firm, is seeking a Director of Development to lead their project development efforts. Estimated salary range: $160,000 - $240,000 per annum.


About the Role:

You will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, including site identification, feasibility studies, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and overseeing construction.


Key Accountabilities:
  • Drive wind energy projects from concept to commercial operation.
  • Ensure all environmental and regulatory approvals are secured.
  • Build strong relationships with landowners, communities, and agencies.
  • Evaluate project viability and prepare investment proposals.
  • Coordinate timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Handle technical assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and address project risks with contingency plans.
  • Update senior management on key milestones and financial performance.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in wind energy project development.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and economic analysis.
  • Willingness to travel for project sites and meetings.
