Digital Anthropology Program Manager

This key role will drive the development and implementation of EMKP, prioritizing the preservation and curation of ethnographic resources.

Salary: £38,414 per annum

About the Position:

You will be responsible for creating new functions and activities in digital anthropology, maintaining high standards in digital preservation and curation.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Resource Management: Effectively manage the repository, digital asset ingest, and publication, adhering to best practices in rights and ethics management.
  2. Knowledge Transfer: Develop innovative approaches to digital ethnography/anthropology and train EMKP grantees and community.
  3. Grant Award Process: Oversee and direct the EMKP granting process, coordinating grant applications, assisting applicants, and partnering with the global community of funded researchers.
  4. Grant Assessment: Lead the evaluation and review process for submitted digital materials, providing expert advice on digital practice and museum/material culture anthropology.
  5. Collaboration: Engage in research projects with external partners, securing funding to support projects and supervising related work associated with the EMKP granting process.
  6. Expertise Sharing: Offer technical guidance to EMKP project curators and oversee work related to the EMKP granting process.

To succeed, you should have expertise in digital anthropology, a solid grasp of best practices in digital preservation and curation, and exceptional leadership and communication skills.
