About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to lead a new project focused on implementing and evaluating lifestyle self-management resources for kidney patients and healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care. This initiative is a crucial component of our Kidney Lifestyle Research Programme (KLRP) and offers opportunities for career growth in an emerging field of health research.

The Leicester Kidney Lifestyle Team (LKLT) is a multidisciplinary group conducting a range of clinical and laboratory studies to investigate the biomedical, clinical, and psychosocial effects of lifestyle interventions in patients with chronic kidney disease. Our research explores the underlying mechanisms and develops strategies for implementing interventions in clinical practice. We have established nationwide and international collaborations, providing exciting opportunities for disseminating work through conferences and publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To design, implement, and evaluate lifestyle self-management resources for kidney patients and healthcare professionals.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of existing projects within the KLRP.
  • To collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and expertise.

Requirements:

  • A relevant health science degree and experience in testing digital health interventions.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research and implementation science methodology, including ethics and regulatory applications.
  • Practical experience in health research and theoretical knowledge of implementation science, health psychology/behaviour research, or other related health subjects.

Contract Details:

This is a full-time position, with the option for job sharing considered. The fixed-term contract will last for 24 months, with the possibility of further extension subject to satisfactory review.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
