About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Midwife to join our Antenatal and Newborn Screening Team at Wexham Park Hospital.

The successful candidate will work closely with our team of Specialist Midwives to ensure the safe and effective delivery of the National Antenatal and Newborn Screening programmes within our service.

This is a unique opportunity to develop skills in the management of services that affect all areas of maternity care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams including specialist fetal medicine consultants, sexual health services, gastroenterology services, and tertiary Fetal Medicine and genetic Services.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this role, as well as computer literacy skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counselling women and couples about high chance screening results.
  • Coordinating care for women with positive infectious disease screening results, HIV, Syphilis, and hepatitis.
  • Supporting parents and coordinating multidisciplinary care for babies with known fetal abnormalities and babies with suspected chromosome abnormalities.
  • Capturing and maintaining extensive data to track our population and monitor performance in line with national standards.
