About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our team in a brand new role, focusing on reducing inequalities in infant and child mortality and morbidity. The successful candidate will work closely with the neonatal team to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to babies and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Proactively work with affected families to encourage genetic testing and awareness among families with Autosomal Recessive disorders.
  • Support the development and promotion of the new service for women and families at higher risk of genetic conditions.
  • Collaborate with the Close Relative Marriage Midwife to facilitate early access to genomics information, advice, and support for women in consanguineous relationships.
  • Participate in the Thames Valley and Wessex Neonatal Network to standardize and improve care.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse Subpart 1 Adult or Children's Nurse, midwife on the NMC Register.
  • Recognized neonatal qualification.
  • Qualification in practice learning and assessment.
Requirements
  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management.
  • Evidence of achieving band 6 competencies.
  • Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Experience of audit and research within neonatal services.
  • Counselling qualification or equivalent.
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute trust.
  • Knowledge and experience of antenatal and newborn screening.
Salary and Benefits

£39,205 to £47,084 a year, including HCAS.

Contract

Fixed term, 12 months, Full-time.
