Responsibilities:

  • Decision Making Support: Drive decision-making processes, ensuring financial implications and impacts on central functions are identified, understood, and acceptable before approval.
  • Management Accounts Review: Review and challenge the production of monthly management accounts and compare them to acquisition budgets.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the delivery of complete and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for a number of company entities.
  • Team Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to the finance team and oversee their progression & development.
  • External Audit Coordination: Act as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate audit processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial reporting and regulatory requirements are met on time.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and familiarity with accounting software systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex financial challenges.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team Management: Experience managing and developing finance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly organised with a meticulous approach to work and a commitment to delivering accurate results on time.
  • Proactive Attitude: Self-motivated with a proactive and can-do attitude, capable of handling tasks and driving results without close supervision.
  • Flexibility: Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing work priorities and environments.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, with flexibility depending on experience.
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company pension, and hybrid working arrangements.
