Job Title: Assistant Commercial Finance Business Partner

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Assistant Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team. As an integral part of our team, you will provide financial management support to our Clinical Division or Corporate Directorates.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner/Finance Business Partner to deliver comprehensive financial management support.
  • Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets for agreed areas of responsibility.
  • Provide financial and performance support to the development of Service Development and Business Plans for agreed areas of responsibility.
  • Play a key role in the Directorate's business planning process, providing advice, guidance, and challenge.
  • Prepare financial assessments of business plans, including the impact on efficiency, capacity, asset utilisation, and activity.
  • Financial and capacity modelling of the impact of changes in costs and activity relating to business plans.
  • Provide information and financial assessment to support reference costs submission and development of PLICs for Directorates.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff both within the Finance Department and the wider Trust.

Person Specification:
  • Essential:
    • Qualified accountant - CCAB
    • Previous senior experience of management accounting and finance business partnering.
    • Budget control - development, managing, and monitoring of annual budgets.
    • Supporting the business planning process for a Division/Department.
    • Monitoring, reporting, and communication of financial position to various stakeholders.
    • Delivering financial related training to budget holders.
    • Advanced IT literate, including experience of use and interrogation of general ledger systems and Excel.
