Senior Credit Risk Analyst

At OVO Group, we're looking for a skilled Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Customer Balances department, you'll play a crucial role in managing debt prevention strategies, processes, analytics, and MI that underpin our Collections operation.
As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you'll work collaboratively with team members across customer balances and the wider business to provide data and insight that supports decision making in our credit risk and collections landscapes. Your key outcomes will be:
- Using insight to generate and lead initiatives to advance the department strategy and reduce portfolio risk.
- Assessing trends and performance against targets and key performance indicators.
- Identifying and developing opportunities to improve insight for credit risk and customer credit behaviours, supporting decision making across all stages of the credit risk life cycle.
- Commercial modelling, creating cost/benefit analysis of proposed actions and outcomes.
- Reducing manual effort through automation.
- Solving business problems with a multidisciplinary approach and working in cross-functional teams.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Strong proven experience in a similar data or analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills and confidence in working with a range of datasets, ideally within the utilities, energy or credit risk sector.
- Ability to confidently build and present meaningful data visualisations.
- Interpretation of graphical representations of data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
- Experience in cloud data services such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Statistical knowledge including sampling, significance, hypothesis testing and basic probability theory.
- Able to document and version control your work so others can pick it up and build on it.
- Experience programming for analytics such as in Python or R.
- Understanding of basic programming principles such as names, types, lists, arrays, control flow, exceptions.
