Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join our team at the Institute for Modern. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining data analysis pipelines for large-scale genotyping and functional genomics projects.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to support medical genomics research in common and rare diseases using samples and data from the NIHR Bioresource cohorts comprising thousands of participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data analysis pipelines for large-scale genotyping and functional genomics projects
  • Optimize data workflows and ensure data quality
  • Support lead analysts in planning, decision making, data collection, data cleaning, analysis, documentation, and distribution of results

Requirements:

  • Relevant PhD in bioinformatics or at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in the analysis of large-scale genomic data and bioinformatics, including genotyping array, exome, or whole genome sequencing analyses, and/or proteomics
  • Good skills in LINUX/bash/python and statistical analysis, preferably in R and/or python

$65,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
