Safeguarding Children's Specialist Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner to join our 0-18 Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team in Richmond. As a Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner, you will play a critical role in supporting the multi-agency team and bringing expertise to child safeguarding.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, making a difference to the lives of families, children, and young people in the borough. You will be responsible for searching and collating relevant health information from a range of NHS providers, sharing information proportionately with partner agencies, and making telephone contact with families who have been referred to the Single Point of Access.
Main Duties- Support the multi-agency team and bring expertise to child safeguarding
- Attend meetings and provide feedback to the Locality Leads and Clinical Service Unit Manager
- Collaborate with partner agencies and facilitate joint working practices
- Prepare and produce concise communications for dissemination to partners
- Analyse complex issues and provide insightful recommendations

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- Registered Nurse/Midwife or Registered Health Visitor/School Nurse
- Current NMC registration
- Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
We also welcome applicants with post-graduate Master's level in a relevant subject area or working towards, practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards, and clinical supervisor training or working towards.
ExperienceWe are looking for a Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner with significant experience in health visiting and school nursing, coordinating and leading multi-skilled teams, and working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency working.
You will also need to have experience in providing practice-based learning support to others, participating in audit, assessing and managing risks, and reporting and escalating concerns.
We also welcome applicants with experience in research and participation in audit.
Skills and KnowledgeWe are looking for a Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner with knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice, current knowledge of child protection guidelines and relevant legislation and policies, and current knowledge of information sharing legislation and guidelines.
You will also need to have knowledge of quality issues, the audit process, and clinical governance, and be motivated to learn and develop to meet the needs of the service.
