Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs primary school in Witney, Oxfordshire. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored educational support to children with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Support students with their learning, emotional, and physical needs in a classroom setting.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with children, helping them engage with and understand the curriculum.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and support students in developing social skills.
  • Assist with personal care needs, where necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
Requirements:
  • No formal experience or qualification required.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special needs or primary school setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing situations and individual needs.
