About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs primary school in Witney, Oxfordshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide tailored educational support to students in a classroom setting, addressing their learning, emotional, and physical needs.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with children, helping them engage with and understand the curriculum.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging social skills and classroom behavior.
  • Assist with personal care needs, where necessary, and collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, contributing to a supportive and friendly working environment.
Requirements
  • No formal experience or qualification is required, but previous experience working with children, preferably in a special needs or primary school setting, is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students are crucial for success in this role.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing situations and individual needs are also required.
