Role Overview
The Wheelchair Occupational Therapist will work with adults and children with complex needs, assessing their mobility requirements and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of service users.

About the Job
We are looking for an experienced OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR PHYSIOTHERAPIST to join our Kent Wheelchair Service team. As a clinical specialist, you will use your skills to assess the mobility needs of our service users and provide high-quality care. You will also supervise junior staff and contribute to the development of internal training resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs
  • Prescribe manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories
  • Supervise junior staff and provide clinical guidance to other non-clinical colleagues
  • Contribute to the development of internal training resources
  • Liaise with service user groups and stakeholders to facilitate joint working and improve service user outcomes

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly motivated and organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have experience working with patients with long-term or deteriorating medical conditions and be confident in using digital systems and software. You must be registered with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Clinical Scientist, or registered as a Nurse with the NMC. You will also need a full current UK driving licence for a manual transmission vehicle.
