About Our Project

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust is proud to announce its 'Restoring Bartonsham Meadows' project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This initiative aims to engage, educate, and inspire a wide range of people from various backgrounds.

As an Academic English Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting our Community Officer in delivering learning activities to children across Herefordshire. Your tasks will include:

  1. Supporting school visits to the meadows, including talking to and helping children complete a range of activities and tasks
  2. Assisting with in-school visits, including assemblies and after-school clubs

Key Skills and Qualities

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Interest in meadows and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to commit to one day per month (with flexible dates)
  • Enjoy working with children and young people (we can accommodate preferences for certain age groups)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Our estimated hourly rate for this role is £13-16, based on experience.
