Lead Data Engineer Opportunity

Sanctuary Group, a leading provider of housing, care, and commercial services, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join its team in Worcester. As a key member of the Technology department, you will play a crucial role in delivering technology capabilities that support employees in performing their duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and maintain data models for analytical data, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain metadata, including relationships and calculation logic, using data modeling tools.
  • Manage data analysis projects, gathering business requirements, and liaising with third-party contractors to deliver solutions across multiple systems.
  • Integrate SAP Datasphere with SAP BW and develop bridge solutions to support various data and analytics initiatives.
  • Apply best practice architecture and design principles to create analytical data models.
  • Review and update support and operations documentation as needed.
  • Participate in production support during key activity periods, ensuring seamless data processing.
  • Ensure master data consistency between related systems.
  • Review and improve existing master data interfaces to eliminate data issues in SAP ECC, BW, BPC, and downstream systems.
Requirements:
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification.
  • Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent knowledge and ability.
  • SAP Analytics tools certification or equivalent experience.
  • Recent experience in a similar role.
  • Substantial experience in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving data integration issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP BW, ECC, S/4, and SAC data structures.
  • Expertise in S/4HANA Analytics, including CDS Views Development, SAP HANA Cloud, or HANA 2.0, and SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Ability to design and implement complex dataflows.
  • Experience working on mixed modeling with BW and HANA native modeling.
  • Experience in integrating SAP and non-SAP data sources (Federated, Replication).
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
