Safety is our top priority at Mitie. As an EHS Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and clients. Your responsibilities will include overseeing third-party maintenance activities, providing guidance to facility managers and operational teams, and working closely with the Mitie HSE team to ensure compliance with QHSE standards. You will also be responsible for managing a regular audit and reporting program, communicating performance, and acting as a key Health & Safety point of contact for the Mitie on-site team. Additionally, you will develop appropriate arrangements to ensure that risks from contractors and third-party suppliers are managed and effectively controlled. You will also be responsible for monitoring changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuing legal compliance and best practice. Furthermore, you will undertake investigations of site incidents and accidents, addressing circumstances, cause, and considering improvements that could be made for the future. You will build a strong working relationship with the central Mitie HSE team and actively engage with them on high-risk activities. You will also conduct regular Gemba's of the site to ensure we are delivering a safe and working environment. You will manage and maintain the COSHH register, carry out assessments outside the competence of operational managers, and ensure all relevant site files are in place and up to date for all service lines. You will also manage and maintain the Noise and Vibration registers for all equipment and manage and maintain the ladder registers for all equipment. You will periodically monitor sub-contractor safe systems of work, perform audits on permits, and ensure Issuers and Receivers are following the correct procedures. You will also monitor all Ll audit actions and work with the audit owners to ensure they are completed. You will monitor and progress Non Injury Events (NIE's) with the action owners to ensure they are completed. You will be trained to complete face fit testing. This role requires a strong technical/engineering understanding in a manufacturing/pharmaceutical environment, with a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent level 3 qualification. You will also need to demonstrate continuing professional development and have experience in delivery of QHSE, incident investigation, and root cause analysis. You will have a broad experience and expertise in Integrated Facilities Management sector, in particular Hard or Soft Services where applicable. You will have a detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management. As an EHS Coordinator, you will be self-motivated, positive, reliable, tolerant, inquisitive, resilient, and credible. You will be comfortable in dealing with others and have a keen desire to develop personal competency, responsibility, and accountability. You will be able to get on with others and be a team player, with good influencing skills and empathic communication. You will always follow Group and company policies and procedures, report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment. You will use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training. You will report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
