Customs Administrator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Administrator to join our team at Lidl GB. As a Customs Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate classification and compliance of our products with import regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to enable accurate classification of products
- Perform and review classification decisions, recording the basis for each decision
- Investigate trade agreements, import requirements, and prohibitions/restrictions related to classified products
- Support the buying and international teams in determining product compliance with qualifying requirements
- Develop and maintain our classification log, built from internal data sources
- Communicate with external and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless trade operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in the Customs landscape is highly desirable
- Understanding of Import and Export Customs procedures
- Working knowledge of the UK Tariff Schedule and the application of the General Rules of Interpretation (GIR) and Explanatory Notes is highly beneficial
- Aptitude to work with data and a logical mindset
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel
- Good communication skills and ability to adapt language when necessary
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative
- Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
