Clinical Support Assistant

Job Summary
East Kennet Primary Care Network is seeking a skilled Clinical Support Assistant to join their team at Old School Surgery in Bedwyn. This role will play a vital part in the smooth running of clinics, supporting GPs with administrative duties and hands-on clinical work.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing clinical postal correspondence, undertaking or prioritizing actions required by the GP or other team members. They will also signpost some post to other members of the wider team, arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients, and complete basic forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign.
Clinical Skills
The ideal candidate will have the ability to undertake tasks for which they have received appropriate training following practice policy and procedures. They will make accurate and comprehensive notes in medical records as appropriate, prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions and examinations, and assist in raising awareness of health and well-being.
Administrative and Professional Responsibilities
The Clinical Support Assistant will also be responsible for obtaining and documenting informed consent, ensuring accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients' notes on the clinical computer system, and maintaining accurate patient records and entering onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
About Us
East Kennet Primary Care Network is a rural surgery serving the population of Great Bedwyn and surrounding areas, with a patient list size of nearly 4000. The team is relatively small, and everyone helps out with a wide range of tasks. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedure, and under the guidance of the GP.
