Programme OverviewAs a Materials Engineering Graduate, you'll work within Engineering Services, rotating through various placements, including Metallurgy & Materials, Welding Design, and Non-Destructive Testing departments. You'll gain practical experience with new technologies and collaborate with engineers from diverse backgrounds, contributing to the day-to-day operation of a centre of excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in projects involving Additive Manufacturing, materials design, mechanised welding, and research development of new welding and Non-Destructive Testing processes.
- Work on tasks for both submarine and surface fleet platforms.
- Participate in in-water engineering projects.
- Develop your technical knowledge, project management, and personal skills.
- Contribute to the continued safe service of the Royal Navy and shape future platform processes and techniques.

You'll have the chance to rotate through various departments, allowing you to develop a wide range of skills in different areas of metallurgy and engineering. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to enhance your management and professional skills, with personalised one-on-one support and mentorship to help you progress toward achieving Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
As part of our Graduate Development Programme, you'll receive a series of digital and face-to-face sessions, presented by wellbeing and performance experts and our external partner Gen Healthy Minds, to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to thrive and perform at your very best on your programme and beyond.
