Are you passionate about shaping the future of naval engineering? Our Materials Engineering Graduate Programme offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that support the Royal Navy.

As a graduate on our programme, you'll embark on an immersive learning experience, rotating through various placements, including Metallurgy & Materials, Welding Design, and Non-Destructive Testing departments. You'll engage in projects involving Additive Manufacturing, materials design, mechanised welding, and research development of new welding and Non-Destructive Testing processes.

Throughout your journey, you'll develop your technical knowledge, project management, and personal skills. You'll have the chance to rotate through various departments, allowing you to develop a wide range of skills in different areas of metallurgy and engineering. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to enhance your management and professional skills, with personalised one-on-one support and mentorship to help you progress toward achieving Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • A genuine interest in metallurgy and materials engineering
  • Knowledge of materials testing and application, welding, or non-destructive testing is beneficial

Please note that many of our early careers roles are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions, which may impact your eligibility for certain roles. For our early careers roles, you must be able to achieve BPSS and many of them require you to be eligible for Security Clearance.
