Electrical Engineer – Power

Location: Filton or Barrow

Hourly Rate: £79.17 Umbrella Inside IR35 – 37 hours per week

Duration: 12 months

Working Arrangements: on site 2 days every 2 weeks

Job Overview

As a skilled electrical engineer with a passion for power systems, you will play a vital role in the development and analysis of innovative platform power systems. You will manage daily team activities, oversee project planning, and ensure the production of high-quality deliverables.

Core Duties:
  1. Develop design solutions that meet time, cost, and quality standards in line with project milestones.
  2. Manage requirements and acceptance criteria for systems or products.
  3. Ensure compliance with contractual and performance requirements throughout design, integration, installation, and commissioning phases.
  4. Produce documentation for design review processes, including technical specifications and design evidence.
  5. Conduct design reviews and present findings to customers.
  6. Provide technical support for performance and acceptance activities.
  7. Review supplier documentation and maintain accurate records.
  8. Support bid proposals and project planning with accurate resource estimates.
  9. Champion safety and environmental standards within the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
  1. Technical report writing and engineering lifecycle experience.
  2. Familiarity with defence standards is advantageous.
  3. Expertise in power system modelling, generators, switchgear, power electronics, and more.
  4. Proficient in technical specifications, system calculations, and developing test procedures.
  5. Experience with low voltage AC/DC electrical distribution and protection systems.
