Head of Learning Support and SENCo

Moyles Court School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to lead our Learning Support department as Head of Learning Support and SENCo. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching literacy, numeracy, and study skills to pupils with a range of learning differences and will have a thorough knowledge of a range of appropriate learning strategies.
The Head of Learning Support and SENCo will be responsible for leading the Learning Support department, working closely with the Head/Deputy Head and Head of the Junior School to develop the strategic direction of the SEND department. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and pupils alike.
The role will involve providing additional learning support sessions for identified pupils, creating profiles for pupils who have been assessed by an external assessor, and overseeing the administration of all documentation on SEND pupils. The successful candidate will also be responsible for attending Parents' Evenings, writing reports and references, and ensuring that any follow-up work is carried out.
The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status, experience of teaching literacy, numeracy, and study skills to pupils with a range of learning differences, and a thorough knowledge of a range of appropriate learning strategies. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
The successful candidate will be a positive motivation to work with children and young people, with the ability to gain confidence and support of parents. They will also have excellent time management and organisational abilities, with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
