About This Opportunity

This part-time position is with the Canby School District Driver Education Program. As a Behind-the-Wheel Instructor, you will conduct driving lessons for students (primarily ages 15-17) with varied levels of experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert driving instruction to help make students safe and responsible drivers.
  • FOLLOW THE PLAYBOOK curriculum and flow chart as outlined by the program.
  • Learn and understand the drive routes provided; familiarity with the city of Canby is helpful.
  • Represent Canby School District Driver Education Program as a skilled professional driving instructor.
  • Keep training cars neat and report mechanical problems immediately.
  • Fill car with gas at the end of each shift.
  • Communicate to families and students any areas of opportunity to work on while practicing behind-the-wheel sessions at home.
  • Complete drive assessment documentation for each student at the end of behind-the-wheel sessions.
  • Communicate with and respond to Driver Education coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as required by the Driver Education coordinator.
Minimum Requirements
  • Successful completion of the
  • Residency in the state of Oregon; must have held a valid Oregon driver's license for at least five years with a clean driving record.
  • Access to a cell phone.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Have or obtain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check.
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions day and night.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
