About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to promote students' educational and personal development.
  • Provide academic support in subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, and help students develop their social skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to access the curriculum, and monitor and report on their progress to teachers and the SENCo.
  • Encourage students to engage fully with their learning and participate in extra-curricular activities, and promote positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a school setting or in a support role.
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2 or Level 3) are desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to meet the diverse needs of students, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, with a willingness to undergo further training.
