Job Purpose:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Production team as an Apprentice Machine Operator. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while gaining hands-on experience in machine operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-checks and cleaning tasks on the production line to ensure optimal performance.
  • Set machines to production recipes and prepare raw materials for production.
  • Replenish packaging and films to the production line during shifts, including stacking trays.
  • Set up batches of production according to the production plan.
  • Manual handling, including stacking finished goods, and maintaining equipment hygiene.
  • Complete documentation throughout shifts and record downtime to minimize its impact.
  • Assist in resolving machine stoppages and work towards achieving OEE and waste targets.
  • Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor.
  • Strong motivation and willingness to learn and develop.
Shift Pattern:
  • 4 On 4 Off (Days) - 6am to 6pm.
  • 4 On 4 Off (Nights) - 6pm to 6am.
