Project Engineering Manager

Job SummaryWe are recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager to join us permanently on our major projects. As a Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the management, leadership, coordination, implementation, and performance of discipline engineering activities for an assigned project within our major project.
Key Responsibilities- Review and manage control of design on a project, including production of Design Control Plans (DCP), design review management and input, and design change control.
- Produce appropriate engineering deliverables, including Bases of design (BoD), analysis, calculations, drawings/diagrams, and specifications.
- Manage and coordinate technical risk management activities, including risk management strategy and planning, risk identification and assessment, risk mitigation, and risk register production and maintenance.
- Coordinate the management of requirements, including understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements identification, configuration control, validation, and verification.
- Manage and coordinate the development of engineering delivery baselines, including scope definition, input to project management deliverables (WBS, schedule, estimate, etc.), and project execution plan/engineering execution plan.
- Coordinate oversight of project delivery and project reporting, including rules of credit, progress monitoring and reporting, and recovery planning.
- Engage with and oversee delivery partners and supply chain organisations, including specification of engineering and technical requirements, technical assessment of tenders, management of TQs and concessions, and management of supply chain deliverables.
- Understand and work within/project delivery lifecycle and nuclear industry standard gated delivery processes.
- Experience and knowledge of the UK nuclear site licence conditions and specifically those related to engineering.
- Knowledge of configuration controlled nuclear baseline throughout the project facility lifecycle.
- Experience of nuclear site licence company procedures.
- Knowledge of generic nuclear new-build safety case, including stages and key deliverables, design change control, and engineering deliverables.
- Solid and proven knowledge of UK nuclear facility operational safety case, including design change control/configuration management, facility modification, and periodic review of safety.
- Knowledge of design substantiation process and interactions with the nuclear safety case.
- Experience of quality control and the relationship between nuclear safety and the project lifecycle.
- Knowledge of the UK nuclear and environmental regulators and their interactions with UK nuclear site licence companies.
- Ideal Bachelor's degree in engineering or science subject or demonstrated equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Possess or working towards Professional membership of a relevant chartered body.
- Proven experience working in a complex/major project engineering delivery environment, including part in a supervisory capacity managing a single-discipline engineering delivery team, including management of engineering supply chain organisations.
- Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
