High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom Wycombe Women's Aid Ltd Women supporting women and children against domestic violence Full time

At Wycombe Women's Aid Ltd, we exist to provide independent and high-quality specialist services to women and children experiencing domestic violence.

We are a well-established and respected charity working from a feminist perspective and committed to empowerment and self-help.

Our vision is of a world where women and children live their lives free from domestic and sexual violence.

The refuge service offers emergency, temporary, and safe accommodation for women outside of Buckinghamshire who are escaping domestic violence.

This role is an excellent opportunity to work with a passionate team and contribute to the provision of emotional and practical support to women.

You will have a passion for working within the domestic violence sector and a commitment to working from a trauma-informed, feminist perspective.

You will be responsible for building rapport and working effectively with women in the refuge, recognising and responding to their emotional and practical needs through one-to-one sessions, group work, and close collaboration with other agencies.

A key aspect of this role is advocating on behalf of the woman, ensuring that her voice is heard and her rights are protected.

To succeed in this position, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to drive and use your own vehicle.

We particularly welcome applicants from Black and minoritised women, as these groups are currently underrepresented within our staff team.

In return, we offer a supportive, flexible, and values-led organisation, a focus on learning and self-development, comprehensive well-being support, and the opportunity to work with a team of committed and inspiring women.

We estimate that the salary for this role will be around £27,803 per annum, reflecting the essential skills and qualifications required for the position.
