About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Digital Policing Department at Northumbria Police. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud systems and services that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop automation scripts for on-demand resource provisioning and user self-service.
  • Implement industry best practices across all cloud services and solutions.
  • Migrate legacy systems from on-premises to cloud.
  • Deliver secure migration of data from on-premises systems to cloud services.
Requirements
  • Proven enterprise-level experience in migrating legacy on-premises solutions to cloud platforms.
  • Experience in deploying and using Azure Migrate: Discovery and Assessment, and Migration and Modernisation.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering secure and resilient connectivity via ExpressRoute, S2S VPN Gateways, and P2S VPNs.
  • Proven experience building solutions and services using Microsoft Azure Resources.
  • Experience engineering event-driven solutions and integrations with Azure Event Grid.
  • Proven SecOps experience and skilled in penetration testing methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience using Azure ARC, AMA, Defender, and traditional on-premises anti-virus solutions.
  • Deeply skilled in threat hunting across cloud and traditional IT domains.
  • Experience engineering identity security solutions and integrations with SailPoint IDN.
  • Proven expertise in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform.
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages including PowerShell.
  • Microsoft certifications: Azure Administrator, Azure Security Technologies (AZ-900 / AZ-500).
