Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our respiratory medicine department, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Clinical Leadership: You will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals in the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment and support.
- Supervise Junior Medical Staff: You will be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to Education and Training: You will be expected to contribute to the education and training of medical and non-medical staff, helping to develop their skills and knowledge in respiratory medicine.
- Participate in Departmental Audit and Clinical Governance: You will be responsible for participating in departmental audit and clinical governance activities, helping to ensure that our services are safe, effective, and of high quality.
- Provide Cross-Cover for Annual/Study Leave and Short-Term Sickness: You will be expected to provide cross-cover for annual/study leave and short-term sickness for other consultants in the department, ensuring that our services continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
- Perform Other Duties as Required: You will be expected to perform other duties as required, including participating in administrative and management roles within the department.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced consultant with a strong background in respiratory medicine. The ideal candidate will have:
- GMC Registration: You must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and have a valid license to practice.
- Specialist Register for GIM and Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus: You must be on the specialist register for General Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus via Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
- Clinical Experience: You must have clinical experience in internal medicine equivalent to completion of Higher Specialty Training in General Internal Medicine, and diabetes.
- Management and Administration: You must have experience in clinical audit, patient safety initiatives, and service improvement.
- Teaching Experience: You must have teaching experience to medical and non-medical staff.
