We're looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join our team as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on real-time projects alongside leading Scientists and Engineers, while studying part-time to achieve a degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire the skills required to work effectively within a Professional Engineering environment.
  • Maintain the required results within the Mechanical Engineering degree course to ensure a pass mark.
  • Support members of the Mechanical Engineering Team in the delivery of technical solutions that meet our Customer needs.
  • Create and present design data to the appropriate Departmental 'Best Practices' and utilise industry leading tool sets.
  • Deliver detailed designs; including numerical calculations, tolerance studies, etc.
  • Produce Manufacturing Data Packs in line with BS8888, including appropriate use of GD&T.
  • Generate piece parts, assemblies and mechanisms within the constraints defined by the Mechanical Lead.
  • Work to meet Cost, Schedule and Quality demands.

What we need from you:

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • A-Level(s) A-C in STEM related subjects, Level 3 National Extended Certificate or similar.
  • Be a self-motivated individual, willing to take on new challenges and drive continuous personal development.
  • Strong communication skills across a variety of mediums i.e. written, verbal, digital, etc.
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable to the ever changing demands that will be encountered within the role.
  • Offer novel ideas and methods for solving technical problems, drawing on personal experiences and knowledge learned during academic studies.
  • Demonstrate relevant project work and/or placements in Industry are beneficial, but not essential.

The starting salary for this role is £20,500
