Head of Business Assurance and Performance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Business Assurance and Performance to join our team at Sodexo. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of business assurance and performance across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage budgets and approve procurement within the establishment, ensuring exceptional expenditure is within area of authority in collaboration with the Head of Business Management.
- Interface with the client on all contractual matters, ensuring compliance with Sodexo, client, and contractual instructions.
- Strategically oversee and manage the establishment's staffing resource, including workforce planning activities in collaboration with the HR Business Partner.
- Drive and monitor compliance against Sodexo, client, and contractual targets, as well as operational assurance through local compliance tools, client tools, and the self-audit programme.
- Deliver action plans and manage risk through the risk register, ensuring business continuity.
- Build and maintain client relationships through scheduled meetings, reports, and other communication channels.
You will also be responsible for undertaking other management tasks, including:
- Promoting Justice Services policy in all activities and behaviours, promoting diversity, decency, safety, and reducing re-offending agendas.
- Managing Prisoners' Complaints Process within the Function.
- Ensuring all litigation claims relevant to the area have been dealt with in accordance with policy.
- Overseeing the compilation and regular progress reporting of performance improvement programmes.
- Attending relevant boards/meetings and actively contributing as chair or team member.
- Ensuring defined work areas and associated activities comply with Health and Safety legislation, undertaking risk assessments, and making staff aware of their personal responsibility towards Health and Safety compliance.
- Contributing to the preparation of the establishment contingency and emergency plans, ensuring implementation when required.
- Carrying out all aspects of people management, including Attendance Management, Disciplinary Investigations, Performance Management, and Staff Appraisals.

- Role model senior leader with authentic leadership skills, a clear understanding of key people management tools and resources.
- Proven track record in contracts and performance management.
- Clear understanding of commercial Prison contracts, contract knowledge, and contract and client management skills.
- Understanding of business objectives, policies, and procedures.
- High-level risk management skills.
- Effective stakeholder relationship management – internal and external.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and effectiveness under pressure.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of Project management methodologies.
