Functional Skills Tutor Position

Teaching Personnel is looking for a skilled Functional Skills Tutor to join our team in Chelmsford, Essex.

**Role Overview:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering functional skills education to adults in need of development in the East of England region.

  • Design and implement engaging functional skills training sessions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with learners, employers, and other stakeholders
  • Evaluate learner progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective programme delivery
  • Record and report on learner attendance and progress
**Essential Qualifications and Experience:**
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Proven experience in delivering functional skills education
  • Previous experience working in educational outreach settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment techniques
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Familiarity with UK education systems and qualification frameworks
  • Additonal teaching qualifications or certifications

This part-time role offers flexible hours to accommodate learners' schedules. Travel may be required within the East of England region.

The estimated salary for this role is £26 per hour, based on national averages for similar positions in the area.
