Leading Civil Structural Engineer for Nuclear Projects

About the Role:

ARM's Energy Division is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their team in Devonport dockyard.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering civil/structural engineering work packages, managing technical design packages, and ensuring quality management arrangements are in place.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering civil/structural engineering work packages to required scope, quality, schedule, and budget
  • Managing technical aspects of engineering packages from identification to handover
  • Agreeing project-related objectives, managing designer performance, and providing technical management responses
  • Ensuring design documentation meets project requirements and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget

The successful candidate will have expertise in designing and substantiating heavy civil engineering and building structures, particularly in dock structures. Knowledge of architectural design, building services design, and installation is also essential.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in civil/structural engineering with a focus on nuclear projects
  • Strong knowledge of relevant seismic codes and construction techniques
  • Ability to manage technical design packages and ensure quality management arrangements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
