As a Control Room Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, while contributing to the company's mission to improve the lives of millions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations, ensuring health and safety compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement in productivity and plant availability. This will involve monitoring and controlling processes, diagnosing problems, and implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control process operations, including valve and gate management, and start/stop processes as required.
  • Diagnose operating problems and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide accurate and detailed records of plant operations, settings, and stoppages.
  • Manage traffic activities on site using the Control Room CCTV system and 2-way radio.
  • Support the engineering function in developing a program of planned preventative maintenance, inspection, and cleaning.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to health and safety, environmental legislation, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Essential

  • IT literacy, with experience using business software and systems.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to measure and monitor data and take corrective action.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable

  • IOSH or other safety qualifications.
