About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Research Assistant to join our HIV, Hepatology and Sexual Health Clinical Research Team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will provide support to our clinical research teams and the HIV Injectable Service, working across various services to ensure the smooth operation of clinical trials and research projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process biological samples, including blood and urine, according to clinical trial protocols
  • Arrange courier collection and shipment of biological samples
  • Assist in checking basic research equipment
  • Maintain a kit inventory and order supplies as required
  • Coordinate and collate data for the Barts Health NHS Injectables service

Requirements

  • GCSE/NVQ3 passes in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Able to undertake VDU work and data entry
  • Knowledge of working in an NHS office environment and experience of working to deadlines
  • Previous experience in answering and dealing with telephone enquiries

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Familiarity with working in clinical trials
  • Experience in processing laboratory samples
