Events Coordinator

Job Summary
Public Health Wales is seeking a skilled Events Officer to coordinate meetings, events, and conferences in our newly created open space at Capital Quarter 2. This full-time role involves working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful planning, delivery, and follow-up of public health events.
Main Responsibilities
The Events Officer will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of event planning and delivery, including:
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate event planning and delivery.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for event organisers, ensuring effective communication and smooth event operations.
- Resource Management: Manage event resources, including IT equipment and materials, to support event execution.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper setup and troubleshooting of technical equipment.
- Post-Event Activities: Participate in post-event reviews, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Key Skills and Attributes:
To excel in this role, you will need strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You should have proven administrative experience and be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, is crucial, as you will frequently use these tools for coordinating and during events. Experience in event management is desirable, along with familiarity with IT systems and virtual event platforms. A flexible approach and adaptability are also important, as the role may involve occasional travel and physical tasks such as setting up event spaces.
We are supportive of flexible working and tailoring working patterns to individual circumstances where business needs this role will primarily be based on-site, there will be opportunities to work from home when your work schedule permits.
